"Throughout the 2014/2015 hockey season, Forrest Goaltending was retained by Hanover Minor Hockey to run 8 comprehensive goaltending clinics, each consisting of an off-ice and on-ice component. Dan and his staff provided exceptional instruction and service that met the needs of our goaltenders from the Tyke-Bantam age levels. Forrest Goaltending was courteous, helpful and always maintained a professional presence at each clinic. Hanover Minor Hockey is proud to have Dan and his team back again in the upcoming 2015/2016 hockey season." - Adam Stanley - Development Coordinator, Hanover Minor Hockey
“My 8 year old son Kyle is a Rep goalie and has been working with Dan for several months now. We’ve worked with several goaltending instructors in the past and in our opinion Dan is the best. His passion and knowledge for the goaltending position comes to the forefront when you watch him work with his students. I have also hired Dan to be our team goalie coach; Dan will wear equipment on the ice and teach by example. He has an amazing rapport with his students; Kyle can’t wait for his one on one sessions with Dan. Since working with Dan, Kyle has improved his game significantly. In my opinion your son or daughter would be fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from such quality goalie coach."
- Chad Ayres - KMHA Head Coach & Goalie parent.
Dan is a great goalie coach with a great work ethic. He motivates and works the goalies to get the best out of them at every ice time. Dan uses the right combination of teaching new skills and working with the goalies existing style to make the most of his time with each individual.
- Jason McNaught - Guelph Gryphons Peewee AA Head Coach
“Dan has worked with our son in a small group ratio. We have seen the improvement in skills and techniques in developing our son in the goalie position. Through experienced knowledge, Forrest Goaltending has been able to develop our son's skills through attention to detail, hard work, discipline, work ethic, commitment and building self-confidence.” - Marie Napp -Goalie Parent
"Our son Owen has worked with a few different goalie coaches over the past 2+ years but his time spent with Dan are certainly his most remembered. Goalies often get their fix of basic development at their normal team practices (movement, skating, shots) but when Owen spends time with Dan for development it is great to see the focus move to more situation based development. This is the type of development goalies often don't get in their standard practices but can certainly be what sets them apart in games." - David Nash - Goalie Parent
"I enjoy spending time on the ice with Coach Dan because he is nice, fun & explains things well. I like his drills we do on the ice because they are not basic drills but more fun drills that feel like games." - Owen Nash - Goaltender Kitchener Jr. Rangers Novice MD Red
The training provided by Dan Forrest this season has been a key component in our goalies development this year. I have seen a dramatic improvement in both our goalies, and our team is benefitting from it. Dan was part of my assessment team for tryouts, and having Dan there for that process helped give him an idea of what needed immediate attention for the two goalies selected. Dan communicates well with the goalies and the coaching staff. He is always on time and flexible enough to work around practice plans that required tweaking. Dan has been a great asset to our team, and I look forward to using him in the future. - Jeremy Steinberg - Kitchener Rangers Major Atom AA Head Coach
I really like the drills Dan uses and how he gives me feedback right away. He let's me know what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it. Dan is really nice guy!! - Quinton Bridges - Goaltender, Guelph Gryphons Peewee A
Dan Forrest has really helped our young goaltenders with their confidence and mental toughness. We've watched our two goalies blossom under Dan's instruction. Look forward to working with Dan again! - Danny Descary - Head Coach Guelph Gryphons Peewee A
Dan Forrest's drills are really clear and he makes sure I understand the skill before moving on to the next drill. He also allows us to keep working on things without over coaching us. I really look forward to having Dan Forrest at practice! - Aiden McVittie - Goaltender, Guelph Gryphons Peewee A
Dan is an amazing goalie coach who coached me in peewee hockey. I always had a great time and was pushed very hard in every drill to work my hardest. He combines all different aspects of the game when coaching goalies and takes his time to explain what to do in different situations and why. I improved every practice I had with Dan working on my game to get better. Always working on game situation drills to build muscle memory and simulate games. Always a fun and hardworking environment.- Josh Urquhart– Midget AA goaltender
Dan is a very good goalie coach I worked with him for 3 years. He is good for all ages. All his drills are such great drills they are all based on real game situations. Also he is a really nice guy to talk to. Everytime Dan comes to my practice I feel excited knowing that it will be fun and I learn new stuff.- Daniel Torrice – Minor Peewee AA goaltender
This is my first year working with Dan, the training is great, he uses many game situations and turns them into good intense training.- Neil VandenHoek - Goaltender
We signed our 9 year old son up for a 6 week goalie training session this summer. Dan was awesome! He is very professional and has a blast with the kids! Dan's focus with each child was great and our son enjoyed the sessions immensely. Dan's drills were skilled and fun - not your typical same old drills, which the kids loved. How often do goalies get to face off with each other? Dan brings a great attitude, fun, skills, a bunch of talent and the willingness to work with each child individually. Dan is approachable and was always available to answer any question we or our son had. We will definitely be signing up for more sessions or booking private lessons. - Alison Smith – Goalie Parent
